Alvarez Construction Co. LLC Joins National Pledge to Raise $10 Million for Local Communities

Alvarez Construction Co. LLC, a Baton Rouge area homebuilder and member of the National Association of Home Builders, has joined sixteen fellow homebuilding companies in pledging to raise $10 million over the next two years for nonprofit organizations working to strengthen communities, expand housing access, and improve lives across America.

The initiative, called the Builder Giving Challenge, unites seventeen homebuilders — together producing over 5,000 homes annually across the United States — around a shared commitment to invest in the communities where they build and live. Alvarez Construction will direct its efforts toward nonprofit programs in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas, reporting contributions twice annually across three measures: dollars raised, volunteer hours logged, and local housing initiatives supported.

"We have always believed that building a home is about more than the structure itself. It is about the neighborhood, the schools, the families, and the future of Baton Rouge and surrounding area. We are proud to stand alongside fellow homebuilders in pledging that our industry's commitment to this community does not stop at the front door."

Carlos Alvarez, Alvarez Construction Co. LLC

The pledge reflects a broader truth about the homebuilding industry that often goes unrecognized: stable, attainable housing supports local businesses, strengthens schools, and anchors neighborhoods for generations. Homebuilders, who are among the most active employers and community investors at the local level, are using the Builder Giving Challenge to make that commitment visible and measurable.

"Homebuilders take enormous pride in giving back to the communities they serve. Every day, across this country, our members are not just building homes. They are coaching youth sports, volunteering at food banks, funding local nonprofits, and investing in our neighborhoods."

Jim Tobin, CEO, National Association of Home Builders

Progress toward the $10 million national goal will be reported publicly and regularly, ensuring that the collective impact of the industry is transparent and celebrated as it grows.
