Celebrating 16 Years of Making the Impossible Possible with No Such Thing as Impossible Foundation

At Alvarez Construction we are proud to sponsor the No Such Thing as Impossible Foundation, an incredible initiative that has been making a profound impact since its inception in 2009. Founded by the inspiring Jairo Alvarez, this foundation is celebrating its 16th year in 2024, continuing to transform the lives of children with developmental delays and disabilities through the Wheels to Succeed program.

Wheels to Succeed: Empowering Children Through Adapted Biking

The Wheels to Succeed program, started in 2007 by McMains Occupational Therapist Ashley Leach, aims to provide adapted bikes to children with developmental challenges. These specialized bikes can cost up to $8,000, making them inaccessible to many families. However, thanks to the generous support from the No Such Thing as Impossible Foundation, 222 children have experienced the joy and freedom of riding a bicycle. In 2024, bikes 223 and 224 will be gifted during the annual No Such Thing as Impossible ride.

Jairo Alvarez’s Vision: Joy and Freedom for All Children

Jairo Alvarez’s vision was simple yet profound: every child, regardless of their abilities, should experience the exhilaration and freedom that comes with riding a bike. This vision has not only provided children with a sense of independence and joy but has also brought families closer, enabling them to enjoy bike rides together.

The Vital Role of No Such Thing as Impossible Foundation

No Such Thing as Impossible is the primary source of funding for the Wheels to Succeed program. Without this vital support, many children would miss out on this fundamental childhood experience. As part of the Our Lady of the Lake Children's Health Children’s Developmental Center at College, the program relies heavily on the annual bike ride organized by the foundation.

Join the Ride: Routes for All Skill Levels

The 2024 No Such Thing as Impossible ride offers participants the choice of a 10-, 40-, or 75-mile route, starting at Pointe-Marie and winding along the scenic and historic River Road in Baton Rouge. Whether you’re an experienced cyclist or just starting out, there’s a route for everyone. Register here to join us for this impactful event.

Testimonials: The Impact of Wheels to Succeed

Our COO Sebastian and CFO Ana participate in the ride every year they can. When asked why he believes in the Wheels to Succeed program, Sebastian said, "Everyone should have an opportunity to ride a bike, regardless of any developmental delay." This sentiment echoes the core mission of the foundation and the heartfelt dedication of its supporters.

How You Can Support

You can support the Wheels to Succeed program by participating in the ride, making a donation, or spreading the word about this amazing initiative. Every contribution helps bring a smile to a child’s face and makes Jairo’s vision a reality.

Conclusion

The No Such Thing as Impossible Foundation exemplifies the power of community and compassion. By supporting this foundation, we are helping to ensure that all children, regardless of their abilities, can experience the joy and freedom of riding a bicycle. Join us in celebrating 16 years of making the impossible possible and support the Wheels to Succeed program today.
