Although you may not meet them as part of your homebuying journey, the hard-working members of the purchasing team are some of your biggest allies. 

At Alvarez Construction Company, this is Alesha Graham and Trish Manuel who work behind the scenes to keep costs under control as we expand and build new homes around Baton Rouge. This applies to everything from the land we buy to the materials we use to build each home. Meet our team of community builders and learn a little more about Alesha and Trish of them below.

Alesha Graham - Purchasing Manager

After three failed attempts, we finally convinced Alesha to bring her 18 years of construction experience to work with us about eight months ago. Ten of those years are specifically in residential construction making her a huge asset.

“The compassion they held for their customers and team members was refreshing and I knew instantly I wanted to be a part of the Alvarez Construction family,” Alesha said.

She describes the purchasing department as the “hub of production” because they are responsible for creating purchase orders for each piece of material and labor needed through the process of building a home. 

Day-to-day, Alesha requests bids, negotiates pricing and setting up new plans and pricing in the system. She also manages the department creating a winning structure and process that ensures success for the Project Managers and Trade Partners.

“Our company motto says it all, ‘Build Together, Give Together, Win Together,’” Alesha said.

Trish Manuel - Purchasing Coordinator

Trish also brought construction experience to Alvarez Construction Company when she joined a little more than a year ago. She is a Louisiana native who recently moved back to Baton Rouge after relocating and briefly living abroad. 

“I was drawn to Alvarez because I love working in the construction industry,” Trish said. “It’s really amazing being a part of the home construction process from start to finish.”

One specific feature that stood out to Trish was the hospital-grade air filters that Alvarez includes in each new home as part of the Healthy Homes initiative.

“I really like that we provide our homes with MERV 16 air filtration in the HVAC unit,” Trish said. “This is a must-have that will go into my next home.”

In her spare time, Trish and her family spend lots of time outdoors travelling, hiking and scuba diving.
