Building A Home That Means More
For more than two decades, Alvarez Construction Company has had the great honor of working with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to build a Dream Home in Baton Rouge. And now the time has come again for building a home that means more.
This year’s Baton Rouge Dream Home, which is valued at $725,000, will serve as a grand prize in the annual St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. Tickets went on sale Tuesday, February 25, for $100 each. The grand prize drawing will take place on June 7, live on WBRZ News 2.
All ticket sales will directly benefit the hospital and families impacted by childhood cancer. St. Jude treats an estimated 8,500 patients each year and covers the cost of travel, housing, and meals for the patients and families. St. Jude also freely shares its research that has pushed the childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to 80% since its inception in 1962.
The Alvarez Connection
Alvarez Construction Company’s Involvement in the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway started in 1999 with our founder Jairo Alvarez. He battled cancer himself for many years and was drawn to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s generous work with their pediatric cancer patients.
In 20 years, Alvarez Construction Company has helped raise more than $20 million through the Dream Home campaign, while also donating their time and building expertise to build the home. Last year, with the community’s help, we sold 10,000 tickets and our Dream Home raised an astonishing $1,000,000 for St. Jude.
The Dream Home
Our Dream Home measures 2,900 square feet.including 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. The new home is be located at 2053 Rue Cremieux, in the Rouzan development near Southdowns in Baton Rouge.
We’ve pulled out all the stops to create an exquisite home. We’re including a luxurious master suite with a spa bath and walk-in closet, a sophisticated upstairs seating area for entertaining, and a spacious walk-in laundry room with built-in storage.
Come and see this beauty for yourself. The Baton Rouge Dream Home will be available to tour on weekends from May 9 through May 31. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday hours are 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

While the grand prize is the house, there are a few other prizes to be given away.

Early bird ticket buyers who purchase their tickets by February 28, 2020, will be included in the drawing for a year’s worth of free groceries (a $2,500 value) from the Dream Day Foundation.

You have until June 5, 2020, to buy a ticket and be included in the drawing for a 2020 Genesis G80 from All Star Automotive Group.
