Buy a new home now for next school year

Children rejoiced and parents hit the panic button when schools were suddenly closed in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic. While you’re attempting to keep your kids on top of their academics, maybe you should also think ahead to a more functional home. It just might be the right time to buy a new home now for next school year.

About a month ago, many of us had to shift into both parent and teacher mode—with a little bit of school principal mixed in—to get kids into online learning. There was no time to practice, no trial runs, and the learning curve for getting up to speed with technology was more like a fast blip on a radar screen. Meanwhile, we were also trying to juggle similar challenges faced by suddenly working from home.

How is your home holding up through all this chaos? Is your dining room table doing double-duty as a classroom while your bedroom is also your office? Who is wandering around in the background as you attempt to do video conferencing for work? With all this togetherness, are you finding the quiet places you need to recharge your batteries?

Our lifestyles have been deeply impacted by the current health crisis. It’s not just concern for safety, but the need to shelter in place together. Plus, we’re doing it without the benefit of many activities we took for granted, like going shopping or to the movies, attending a birthday party, or playing sports. Being happy at home is now more reliant on your living space than ever before.

Luckily, the pandemic WILL end. People will return to work. Students will return to school, although it’s unlikely that will happen for this current school year. Picture the joy of returning to all the places that you’ve been missing—your favorite restaurant, salon, shops, sporting events, and entertainment venues. And did you forget how much fun an outdoor festival can be?

Think even bigger now.

Imagine that you have a brand new place to come home to when this is over because you used your social distancing time to search for and buy a new home. You found a great place that has a dedicated home office, a bonus room that will work great as a family room and homework station, and a pantry that can hold plenty of supplies to keep you stocked up. Like all of Alvarez Construction Company’s homes, this one comes with a whole-home air filtration system. We also install a MERV 16 air filter, the same that is used in hospitals.

The smart move

Another benefit to moving to a new construction home is the technology. Your home is wired for better connectivity. If you’ve been sharing an outdated network with others in your home, you’ve probably discovered how sluggish it can be. Move up to a home that is wired for more advanced networking. Alvarez Construction Company includes smart home technology as a standard feature. In addition to a smart security system, thermostat, and smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, we also provide you with a Whirlpool Smart Range.

Think about where you’re living right now. How does it compare to all the advantages of a new construction home? Also, factor in the value of the builder’s warranty that provides coverage of your home and all its systems and appliances. Eliminate the worry of repairs and replacement.

We’re still building

Residential construction is designated an essential business. We’re managing to work safely, using the careful sanitizing methods and keeping our crews physically separated from each other. Of course, progress isn’t quite at the pace we were a few months ago because of these measures, but new homes are coming along.

Alvarez Construction Company is building single-family homes in appealing neighborhoods in Baton Rouge and surrounding towns, like Denham Springs, Madisonville, Prairieville, and Zachary. We’re working with homebuyers who want to take advantage of the low interest rates and current prices on new homes—which will likely increase after the pandemic, due to rising costs for materials and labor. That means you can afford more home for your investment during this current situation.

Homebuyers who take action now will be moving into their new homes while others are competing for the limited inventory.

As a family-owned homebuilder, we’re committed to helping families find the home where they can thrive. How can we help you find yours?

Reach out to Banessa Petty at Alvarez Construction Company. Tell her what you need and want from your next home. She knows every floor plan and community, and Banessa will guide you to choices that best match your vision. We are scheduling private tours by appointment only, and sanitizing before and after every visit.

Staying safe right now doesn’t mean you have to stay still. Jump-start your future by browsing our communities, floor plans, and new homes for sale in Baton Rouge and beyond.
