Celeste Lofdahl: Your Alvarez connection from contract through closing
The process of buying a new home is exciting, but there are a lot of details that happen along the way. For Celeste Lofdahl, her job is to stay on top of everything; as your Alvarez Construction Company connection from contract through closing, Celeste works hard to make it look easy!
Celeste is our Construction Support and Closing Coordinator. She jumps in as soon as one of our homebuyers signs the contract. She gets to know each person and family, understanding what they need and want in their new home. Celeste makes sure all design selections and upgrades are communicated to the project managers and subcontractors. Then, she’s the person with eyes on each project, providing regular updates to buyers and Realtors and answering their questions throughout the construction process. Think of Celeste as your tour guide on the path to homeownership!
She is in the unique position of being able to build a relationship with everyone who buys an Alvarez Construction home. “My favorite part is getting to know each one of them and listening to how excited they are for the next chapter,” says Celeste, who grew up in South Louisiana and graduated from Louisiana State University with a business degree.
After graduation, Celeste took a job in Chicago. She realized almost immediately that she didn’t want to be that far from home. A year later, she returned. “I haven’t left since.”
She joined the Alvarez team in 2018, originally as the Office Coordinator. Not long after, she moved up to the position of Pre-closing Customer Service. Like coming home, she says she knew it was the right place to be.
Banessa Petty was then the Closing Coordinator, so Celeste worked closely with her, particularly when Banessa was on maternity leave in early 2019. Banessa then transitioned to Online Sales Counselor, and she approached Celeste about assuming her previous job.
“Of course, I said ‘yes!’” says a perpetually smiling Celeste.
The other side of her job, Closing Coordinator, has Celeste working with lenders and title companies on preparing documents for closing. Her close attention to detail is particularly critical here, as she juggles all the pieces required for a timely and successful closing. In the end, the homebuyer, Realtor, lender, and title company come together for a smooth transaction. That’s proof that Celeste is great at her job.
Working in a construction company also allows Celeste the opportunity to dream about her own home. As she reviews one detail after another with new homebuyers, she has been building her own wish list.
“My style is definitely Modern Farmhouse, which makes Fieldstone Park my favorite community,” says Celeste. “I love the gooseneck lights that come on the exterior and, of course, subway tile in all areas. My biggest must-have is quartz countertops. They are durable and the color options offered are neutral and light.”
As a hometown girl and LSU alum, Celeste spends her free time cheering on the Tigers. She and her family have season tickets to the football games and gymnastics matches. She also enjoys crafting projects with her husband, a skilled woodworker. They build furniture, door hangers, signs, and board games, while their two dogs keep an eye on things.
